A portrait of a place. The lives of a visiting tourist couple intertwine with the local youth of an Australian coastal town over 24 hours, displayed in a series of increasingly surreal vignettes.
HIBALL is a collaborative film and fashion project between Stanton Cornish-Ward and Alexandra Kirwood. Both graduating from RMIT’s Bachelor of Design (Fashion) with First Class Honours, the pair developed an interest in the intersection of fashion and film. After gaining international success with their respective fashion films, the duo formed HIBALL, a fashion film and production company. Calling on their formative years as inspiration, Kirwood and Cornish-Ward merge traditional cinematography with stylised production, creating intimate portraits of Australian youth culture.
Their individual works have been shown in the official selections of fashion film festivals in Romania, Bulgaria, Denmark, Australia, Mexico, Italy, U.S.A, U.K, and Canada. They have also been screened at the BAFTA qualifying festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival, and Women & Fashion Film Festival in New York.
